Overview
Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our Civil/Site team in Tampa, FL.
The Assistant Project Manager will assist the Project Manager with technical and administrative direction, supervision of projects, aspects of project management, leadership, profitability, and client management for the project design team. Responsibilities include accountability to Project Manager in the areas of project management, financial performance, preparation of technical proposals and invoices, monitoring of project budgets, staff supervision, scheduling of key projects, and responsibility for the design tasks associated with civil engineering projects. The Assistant Project Manager will work within Autocad and alongside existing office staff and senior management to successfully complete projects within established budgets and deadlines.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparation of effective work plans and man-hour budgets for approval by supervisor.
  • Monitor time schedules and capital cost budgets on projects to satisfy client.
  • Oversee the work and productivity on assigned projects.
  • Strive to achieve predetermined goals for profit, productivity targets, and schedule of deliverables.
  • Participate in or hold team meetings ensuring procedures governing the review and approval of projects are followed prior to submission of completed work.
  • Negotiate with clients on any scope changes relative to project budgets and schedules subject to supervisor's approval.
  • Ensure all project work is performed and completed in accordance with QA/QC standards, systems and procedures as designated for project.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with all employees involved in the project to ensure high utilization rates (i.e. Project team meeting).
  • Review monthly man-hour and cost reports to ensure projects are being completed at the pre-established goal.
  • Assist with mentoring junior staff in learning sound technical and business practices and enhancing corporate objectives.
  • Assist with the preparation for public hearings, meetings and any other presentations related to his/her projects.
  • Works efficiently with the Billing Department to authorize and transmit bills to client. Follows up with clients for timely payments.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety program and all applicable SOPs.
  • May oversee the activities of assigned staff, including but not limited to timesheet review and approval, performance evaluation and daily supervision.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 8+ years of Land Development Design.
  • Experience in Residential, Commercial, & Industrial.
  • PE preferred.
  • Knowledge of local city, county and state land use processes and regulations.
  • Proficiency in technical skills in stormwater management, hydraulics, hydrological analyses, grading and other site development related designs.
  • Demonstrated Civil 3D skills with the ability to design site layouts concept through completion.
  • Ability to interact well with coworkers, clients, and regulatory agencies.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as, in a team environment.
  • Construction oversight experience a plus.
  • Dedicated, responsive, and organized.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
