Royal Caribbean Group's Celebrity Training Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Manager, Learning and Development reporting to the Senior Director, Trade Marketing.
This position will be working onsite from Miami.
Position Summary:
The Manager, Learning & Development is a strategic leader within the Sales organization, responsible for the strategy, design, implementation, delivery, and continuous improvement of innovative training programs that support Celebrity Cruises' Sales organization and travel advisor sales channel.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Trade Marketing, this role leads to the development of comprehensive learning strategies and sales enablement initiatives that drive business performance, increase sales effectiveness, and strengthen product expertise across internal and external audiences.
The Manager serves as a trusted partner to Sales leadership, collaborating cross-functionally to identify training needs, develop scalable learning solutions, and measure program impact.
This role requires a highly organized, innovative, and results-oriented professional with strong leadership, project management, facilitation, and instructional design skills. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who can balance high-level planning with flawless execution and effectively lead multiple initiatives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
The Manager is responsible for overseeing key training programs and educational events, including Seminars at Sea, webinars, virtual learning experiences, education at sales meetings, and onboarding programs for internal and external audiences. This individual also manages learning content development, training technologies, vendor relationships, budgets, performance analytics, and continuous improvement efforts.
Success in this role requires strong business acumen, adaptability, executive presence, and the ability to influence stakeholders while delivering measurable business results through learning and development initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Learning Strategy & Sales Enablement
  • Develop and execute sales training strategies aligned with organizational priorities and commercial objectives.
  • Partner with Sales leadership and key stakeholders to identify performance gaps and learning opportunities.
  • Lead the design, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of training programs for internal Sales teams and external travel advisors.
  • Establish learning frameworks and curricula that support onboarding, product education, sales effectiveness, leadership development, and ongoing professional growth.
  • Ensure learning solutions align with adult learning principles and cruise industry best practices.
  • Oversee the creation and delivery of engaging learning experiences across multiple formats, including instructor-led training, webinars, virtual learning, e-learning, and blended learning programs.
  • Develop strategy for training and development.
  • Works closely with other Trade Marketing leaders in creating actionable Sales Communications Plans, advertising to drive training participation forward.
  • With a team of Trainers, leads and facilitates high-impact training sessions for Sales teams, travel advisors, leadership groups, and business partners.
  • Creates training initiatives focused on improving sales performance, including but not limited to closing the sale techniques, objection handling, consultative selling, revenue optimization, product knowledge, promotional programs, marketing and sales tools, customer engagement strategies, new deployments.
  • Leads a team to ensure all training content remains current, accurate, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Manages the relationship with the main training vendor and supports the strategy and training for platforms like Shufflrr, Rallio, Internal LMS, etc.
  • Manages the planning, execution, and evaluation of key training initiatives, including Seminars at Sea, conferences, trade events, webinars, and sales meetings.
  • Manage training calendars, project plans, timelines, budgets, and vendor relationships.
  • Oversee that administrative functions related to training events, including contracts, purchase orders, invoicing, and record keeping are kept up to date and fully structured and organized.
  • Ensures operational excellence and successful execution of all learning programs.

Leadership
  • Manages Learning & Development team include Lead and Trainers.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to Sales leaders and cross-functional partners.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Revenue Management, Product Development, Trade Support, Operations, etc. to develop relevant training solutions that educate Sales team members and travel advisors.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to trainers, contractors, or project resources as applicable.
  • Represent Celebrity Cruises professionally at internal and external training events.

Measurement & Continuous Improvement
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate training effectiveness and business impact. Makes recommendations based on performance.
  • Utilize feedback, performance metrics, and sales results to continuously improve learning programs.
  • Analyze reporting and data trends to identify opportunities and recommend enhancements.
  • Leverage learning technologies, AI solutions, and innovative methodologies to improve learner engagement and productivity.

Learning Technology & Innovation
  • Champion the use of learning technologies and digital tools to enhance training effectiveness.
  • Leverage AI tools, including Microsoft Copilot and emerging technologies, to improve content development, productivity, and learner experiences.
  • Partner with LMS vendor/designer to optimize use of learning platform and reporting capabilities as needed.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Communications, Education, Organizational Development, Instructional Design, Business, or related field required.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in learning and development, sales training, marketing, or sales enablement. Proven experience leading a team, project leadership a must.
  • Cruise and/or travel industry experience is strongly preferred, particularly supporting sales organizations or travel advisor channels.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing large-scale learning initiatives.
  • Strong facilitation and executive presentation skills.
  • Miami-based role with approximately 25% travel, including ship visits, Seminars at Sea, conferences, industry events, and field engagement with Sales teams.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and develop training strategies and initiatives that drive measurable business outcomes. Strong expertise in instructional design, curriculum development, and learner engagement.
  • Exceptional presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to engage audiences at all levels.
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills with the ability to build relationships across functions. Proven mentoring and coaching skills also desired.
  • Excellent project management and organization skills.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable recommendations. Previous experience evaluating learning effectiveness and measuring ROI.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Experience with Power BI or similar reporting and visualization tools.
  • Experience with LMS platforms and digital learning technologies.
  • Familiarity with AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot and their application within learning and development.
  • Experience with Canva or similar content design platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail with strong accountability and execution capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience managing budgets, vendors, purchase orders, and invoice processing.
