Job description

Overview

Who We Are

At BJ’s Restaurants, we’ve been bringing people together to celebrate life’s moments since 1978. We’re more than a restaurant, we’re a team of passionate people who take pride in creating great food, memorable experiences, and a workplace where everyone feels valued. If you’re energized by teamwork, motivated to keep learning, and passionate about creating great experiences for others, you’ll feel right at home here.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

As our Learning Content Specialist, you'll be the creative engine behind how BJ's trains and equips its restaurant teams. You'll produce training content from start to finish turning operational standards into videos, job aids, and rollout guides that are clear, compelling, and built for the restaurant floor.

This is a hands-on, maker role. You'll storyboard and shoot, design and write, manage timelines and juggle projects all while keeping the guest experience and our Gold Standard at the center of everything you create.

How You’ll Contribute

  • Produce training videos end-to-end — storyboard, record, edit, and publish content covering food, beverage, service, and operational procedures
  • Build digital learning content — develop e-learning modules, interactive courses, and microlearning assets for BJ's LMS platform that meet team members where they are
  • Design visual job aids — cut spec charts, build sequence cards, portion guides, and station references that live and get used where the work actually happens
  • Write rollout guides — clear, manager-ready documentation for menu changes, new processes, and operational updates that get people up to speed fast
  • Own your timelines — manage multiple projects with short turnarounds, communicate proactively, and deliver on deadline without losing quality
  • Show up in the field — regularly visit BJ's restaurants to work alongside teams, gather feedback, observe real operations, and ensure every training tool reflects how things actually work on a busy shift

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

  • 2–4 years of experience in instructional design, content production, or training development - restaurant or hospitality experience strongly preferred
  • Strong design skills - proficient in Canva, Adobe InDesign, or similar tools
  • Excellent writing ability - you make things clear, concise, and audience-right
  • A self-starter mentality - you see what needs to be done and you go do it
  • Flexibility and composure when priorities shift - you pivot fast and keep quality high
  • A hospitality mindset - you're energized by helping others and love being the host who makes everything run smoothly

Salary Range

USD $65,000 – $80,000 plus bonus eligibility and comprehensive benefits.

This salary range reflects the anticipated compensation for this role. Final salary within the range will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, relevant experience, and other job-related qualifications.
