Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced Learning Systems Administrator to own and optimize an enterprise Learning Management System (LMS). This role serves as the technical steward of the platform, ensuring system stability, strong governance, reliable integrations, and scalable configuration to support enterprise learning and compliance objectives.

This is a hands-on role suited for someone comfortable managing backend configuration, partnering across HR and IT, and establishing operational processes that enable the LMS to perform effectively at scale.

Key Responsibilities

LMS administration and system stability

  • Own day-to-day administration and overall health of the LMS platform
  • Configure and maintain backend settings including security roles, workflows, automation rules, domains, and learning objects
  • Monitor system performance and proactively troubleshoot issues impacting reliability or usability
  • Manage releases, updates, patches, and regression testing
  • Maintain clear documentation of system configurations, standards, and technical decisions

System development and optimization

  • Design and implement scalable LMS enhancements aligned with enterprise learning strategy
  • Lead configuration improvements to streamline both learner and administrator experience
  • Evaluate new LMS features and recommend adoption where appropriate
  • Partner with HRIS, IT, and reporting teams to optimize integrations and data flows

Governance and process management

  • Establish and maintain LMS governance frameworks, including naming conventions, metadata standards, role-based security models, and change control processes
  • Define and document operational procedures to ensure consistency and scalability
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy, audit, and regulatory requirements
  • Implement internal controls to support reporting accuracy and system integrity

Operational support and stakeholder partnership

  • Serve as an escalation point for complex LMS issues
  • Translate business and learning requirements into effective system solutions
  • Support compliance reporting, audits, and certification tracking
  • Provide guidance and best practices to learning stakeholders and administrators


  • 3+ years of hands-on experience administering an enterprise Learning Management System (e.g., Cornerstone, Workday Learning, SuccessFactors, Saba, Docebo, or similar)
  • Strong background in backend LMS configuration, security roles, metadata, and workflow automation
  • Experience supporting integrations between LMS platforms and other enterprise systems
  • Proven ability to implement governance, documentation, and scalable operational processes
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to data accuracy, system stability, and audit readiness
  • Comfortable partnering cross-functionally and balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution
