Description
Head Start Birth-5 has an opening for a part-time Intern position working up to 16 hours per week. This position is responsible for assisting lead teachers, creating a safe and engaging learning environment, and supporting the overall needs of the classroom. The intern will be involved in various tasks, including classroom management, lesson preparation, and childcare, while learning and developing their skills under the guidance of experienced staff. Complete duties and responsibilities as they relate to the Head Start Performance Standards, Indiana Day Care Licensing Regulations, CACFP Guidelines, and Head Start Birth-5 Forms and Procedures Manual.
Requirements
Enrollment in a High School, Technical Education (CTE) program, College Program, or enrolled in an Undergraduate/Graduate Degree Program in Early Childhood or comparable field of study is required. Knowledge or experience in the desired field of study is preferred.
Must meet Head Start and Indiana Childcare Licensing Regulations, including Head Start Standards of Conduct, federal and state criminal history requirements, sex offender registry checks, drug screen, physical and complete an annual T.B. test.
There may be flexibility to match school programs if needed. The position will be classified as temporary and end at the end of the selected intern's semester/school year, whichever is appropriate for the program in which the student is enrolled.
