Job description

Job Title: Junior Sous Chef 

Location: Santa Monica CA

Company:  Bower Surf Club 


Position Overview: As the Junior Sous Chef at Bower Surf Club, you will play a role in the culinary team. You will work closely with the BOH management team and to assist with all kitchen operations and ensure the delivery of high-quality dishes to our valued guests. Additionally, you will directly manage the culinary team, providing guidance and support to maintain smooth operations. This position requires strong culinary skills, leadership abilities, and a passion for creating exceptional dining experiences.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead and mentor a diverse BOH team
  • Maintain a positive and respectful work environment
  • Working every station
  • Opening or the Closing the kitchen on a daily basis  (3 service restaurant) 
  • Train and mentoring staff to cross train 

Qualifications and Skills:


  • Previous experience of 3+ years in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
  • Strong culinary skills with a focus on pasta and Italian cuisine.
  • Proven leadership abilities, with the capability to motivate and inspire a kitchen team.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality dishes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

Compensation: 

  • $26 an hour
  • Plus tips
