They interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOB) forms, apply adjustments, resolve discrepancies, and manage both electronic (ERA) and manual transactions, directly impacting the revenue cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payment Posting: Accurately apply insurance payments, adjustments, and denials (EOB/ERA) to patient accounts.
- Reconciliation: Balance daily deposits, electronic funds transfers (EFTs), and checks to ensure accuracy.
- Denial Management: Identify, document, and route claim denials or underpayments for follow-up.
-Data Entry: Enter patient payments and insurance reimbursements into the practice management system.
