Overview:
North Florida Surgeons is a leading healthcare provider committed to delivering exceptional patient care and service. We have over 300 medical providers and physician extenders and are currently seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Payment Posting Specialist to join our billing team and help ensure accurate and timely processing of payments. The Payment Posting Specialist is responsible for accurately posting insurance and patient payments, reconciling accounts, and identifying discrepancies. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the financial health of the practice and ensuring a smooth revenue cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately post insurance payments (EOBs/ERAs) and patient payments to the appropriate accounts.
  • Reconcile daily deposits and payment batches with bank statements and internal records.
  • Identify and resolve payment discrepancies, including underpayments, overpayments, and denials.
  • Work closely with billing, collections, and front office teams to ensure account accuracy.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payer policies and reimbursement guidelines.
  • Respond to internal inquiries regarding payment status and account balances.
  • Accurately post insurance payments (EOBs/ERAs) and patient payments to the appropriate accounts.
  • Reconcile daily deposits and payment batches with bank statements and internal records.
  • Identify and resolve payment discrepancies, including underpayments, overpayments, and denials.
  • Work closely with billing, collections, and front office teams to ensure account accuracy.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or medical billing certification preferred.

  • Proficiency with EHR and billing systems
  • Strong understanding of EOBs, ERAs, insurance payment processes, and reconciliation procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and data entry accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
