We currently have an opportunity for a Marketing Specialist to join our Commercial Lines team
Overview:
Under the direction of a Marketing Manager or Vertical Leader, is responsible for the effective marketing of insurance risks to companies. Works at a strategic level to develop and retain consultative relationships with customers, prospects, producers, service team members and insurance company underwriters, all in support of HUB New England's retention and growth initiatives. Exhibits product knowledge and industry expertise within a product or vertical becoming a resource for all HUB team members both in New England and across all HUB regions.
Responsibilities:
  • Markets all lines of commercial insurance with direct impact on revenue goals through the acquisition of new business and the retention of renewals.
  • Negotiate coverage terms, structure, and pricing with underwriters through direct carrier relationships whenever possible and access preferred wholesale when necessary.
  • Demonstrates thought leadership and industry expertise within a specific product segment or industry vertical.
  • Acts as a strategic partner to the producer assisting with pre-underwriting information gathering, coverage review/analysis and proposal preparation and presentations if needed.
  • Executes a quality control process for policies and quotations delivered assuring coverage, condition, rating, and pricing accuracy.
  • Effectively builds relationships with insurance company underwriters through a pattern of professional risk submissions, company visitations and firm, but fair, negotiations.
  • Maintains state of the art knowledge of market underwriting appetite, line of business trends, insurance company changes, rating technique and coverage development.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of our company utilization strategies by appropriate risk submissions.
  • Attends and participates in new business and renewal presentations to prospects and clients in support of Producers and service team colleagues.
  • Supports the maintenance of new business and renewal control logs, which assist the department head in identifying trends.
  • Provide training and support to HUB team members within a specific product segment or industry vertical.
  • Ensures that HUB Marketing Workflows are captured through utilization of agency management system in accordance with HUB policies and procedures.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by Manager.

Qualifications:
  • 5 years plus experience (within a specific product segment or industry vertical) in marketing or underwriting.
  • Demonstrated ability to property and casualty accounts (within a specific product segment or industry vertical); effectively market to carriers and customers; develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers and prospects.
  • Knowledge of all forms of property and casualty coverage rating.
  • Thorough knowledge of commercial lines coverages and markets.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent negotiation, organizational, interpersonal, communication skills, both written and oral, and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Licensed Property & Casualty Insurance Broker

The expected salary range for this position is $76,190 - $90,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate's skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position's business line, scope and level.
