Job description

Mailing Inserter Machine Operators will perform numerous machine operations to support the plant bindery and mailing functions. Responsible for performing tasks associated with the set up and operation of the mailing insertion equipment.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operates mailing machinery in the routine aspects of processing finished print material.
  • Operators must be able to trouble-shoot the equipment and provide proper adjustments to meet established hourly production standards and perform preventative maintenance at required intervals.
  • Operators must be able to effectively use the quality control monitoring systems while processing mail pieces, along with monitoring quality of the final insertion at output.
  • Inserter operators must be able to sort and prepare mail according to the USPS regulations.
  • The inserter operator must record any damaged documents or mail pieces that will require reprinting.
  • Pull up proper job configuration on inserters based on forms that will be inserting using the inserting software system. Perform operator adjustments.
  • Check final inserts for proper folding, sealing, address placement through envelope window
  • Notify Supervisor or On-Site service technician of any mechanical service required, machine malfunctions or quality issues
  • Reviews job ticket and contents to ensure conformity to written and verbal instructions.
  • Responds to communications concerning any quality concerns.
  • Must be able to keep accurate production and daily activity reports.
  • Maintain level of housekeeping that complies with company standards.
  • Must have adequate reasoning skills; must be able to apply common sense and understanding to job related duties.
  • Must be team oriented - a team player, willing to work for the good of the total team.
  • Must have reliable transportation; be able to work days, nights, weekdays, weekends, holidays and willing to work overtime when needed.
  • Comply with work and safety rules
