Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Inserter Operator to set up and operate high-volume mail-inserting equipment. This position is responsible for completing mailing projects according to job specifications, postal regulations, company procedures, and quality standards.

The Inserter Operator will coordinate inserting, metering, and mail-sorting activities to meet customer deadlines while maintaining productivity and accuracy.


Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate mail-inserting equipment
  • Review job instructions and configure equipment according to specifications
  • Insert, meter, sort, and prepare mail pieces for distribution
  • Ensure mailing projects comply with current postal regulations
  • Monitor equipment and finished mail pieces for accuracy and quality
  • Coordinate workloads to meet customer deadlines and production goals
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems and make basic operating adjustments
  • Perform required daily, weekly, and monthly equipment maintenance
  • Maintain accurate production and job records

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand for extended periods

  • Frequent reaching, grasping, bending, and material handling
  • Ability to distinguish colors and maintain adequate near, far, peripheral, and depth vision
  • Sufficient hearing to recognize and interpret equipment and workplace sounds


Work Environment

This position is based in a secure digital print and mail production facility. Employees may be exposed to paper dust and production noise. Hearing protection may be recommended.

The role operates in a deadline-driven environment and may require overtime with limited notice. Employees must be able to respond professionally to changing priorities and multiple internal and external customer demands.
