Job description

We are expanding our crew of awesome writers to help out when demand is high, and we are looking for a few different qualities. Do you still hand write your notes, grocery lists, and other items? Are you interested in accurately transcribing digital text to handwritten letters? If so, we have a job for you!
We're MailLift - the handwritten letter company, and we've found a way to make old new again. We provide high-touch, personalized campaigns for our clients through handwritten letters.
We currently have an amazing crew of writers, but our company is growing quickly and we need writers to expand the family to help when we have high demand.
If you're just looking to clock hours, this job is NOT for you! We are interested in hiring people who want to help our company succeed by filling this critical role.
We need someone who pays close attention to detail and who doesn't mind repetitive tasks. We're also looking for someone who is self-directed and can work independently but also works well as part of our team. Comfort with deadlines, time-management, and task organization skills are also very important to us.
Due to the nature of the job, this is a part-time position only. We can schedule handwriters for a maximum of 4 hours per day because you're hand will get tired. However, we offer a truly flexible schedule; the only non-negotiable is that you have the ability to get here -- this is an in-office position only.
"But my handwriting isn't perfect!" -- everyone who has ever applied
We aren't looking for the prettiest or most perfect handwriting. All we need from you is legible, natural handwriting and a working knowledge of English spelling and grammar rules. We get requests for a variety of styles, including - male sloppy, cursive, all caps, business casual, bubbly...the list goes on and on.
Be creative, be casual, be formal, just be yourself!
Any other questions? Check out MailLift.com!
Qualifications:
  • Legible, natural handwriting (we get requests for a variety of styles - sloppy, cursive, all caps, business casual, bubbly, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of English spelling and grammar rules
  • Positive, can-do attitude
  • Available for 4 hour shifts at least 3 days a week during our business hours (Mon-Fri, 10am to 7pm -- we are closed on weekends!)
  • MUST LIVE IN AUSTIN, TX

How to apply:
  1. Handwrite the sample letter below on a piece of paper.
  2. Handwrite "The quick brown fox jumps over a lazy dog" on a piece of paper (you can send us as many entries as you'd like with as many writing styles as you'd like for this)
  3. Reply to this post with pictures of the above + your awesome handwriting
  4. Include your contact information.
  5. Include your most active email address.
  6. Include your availability.
  7. Add a 10-20 word explanation of what you like about this gig and why we should pick you

Sample Letter:
Hey Daniel,
I noticed you had a few help tickets last week and wanted to reach out and let you know something... WE THINK YOU ROCK! Thanks for sticking with us. If there is anything I can do for you, let me know!
