Flex Operator
Position Summary
The Flex Operator supports multiple production areas within a fiber optic cable manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for assisting with reel construction, operating and supporting the Super Mac cable rewinder, and helping package finished cable reels for shipment. The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and comfortable performing hands-on physical work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with building and assembling wooden reels according to production specifications.
  • Support operation of the Super Mac cable rewinder, including loading, unloading, monitoring cable runs, and maintaining proper tension and alignment.
  • Inspect reels and finished product for quality, accuracy, and damage prior to packaging and shipment.
  • Assist with wrapping, labeling, banding, and packaging completed cable reels.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices safely and effectively.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, manufacturing processes, and quality standards.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, machine operators, and team members regarding production status or issues.
  • Support other production or warehouse functions as needed in a flexible manufacturing role.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing, warehouse, construction, or industrial experience preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand and power tools.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn multiple production processes and work in different areas as needed.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts.
