Job description

Slitter Operator
Automation Personnel Services is looking for a Slitter Operator for a company based in Dallas, TX. In this role, you will have the opportunity to operate specialized converting equipment while contributing to a high-quality production environment focused on precision and efficiency.
Pay Rate
$20.00 – $25.00 per hour
Schedule and Hours
Monday through Friday, 1st shift. Overtime may be required.
Slitter Operator Duties and Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate slitting machines to convert master rolls into finished rolls
  • Load and unload large rolls using forklifts or roll handling equipment
  • Adjust slitting knives, spacers, and machine settings for correct widths
  • Monitor machine performance including tension, alignment, and cutting accuracy
  • Inspect finished rolls for defects such as edge damage or uneven cuts
  • Measure roll widths and diameters to ensure specifications are met
  • Label finished rolls and prepare for packaging or storage
  • Record production data including run time, waste, and downtime
  • Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of equipment
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment
  • Coordinate with material handlers and packagers for workflow efficiency
Slitter Operator Qualifications and Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2–5 years of slitting or converting machine experience preferred
  • Ability to read production orders and technical specifications
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Forklift experience or ability to obtain certification
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
