Position Overview

We are currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Slitting Machine Operator to join our production team in Fairfield, NJ. This role is ideal for someone with manufacturing or machine operation experience who takes pride in producing quality work and maintaining a safe, efficient workspace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, load, adjust, operate, and unload slitting machines and related equipment
  • Monitor production runs to ensure products meet customer specifications and quality standards
  • Use measuring tools such as scales, calipers, micrometers, and thickness gauges
  • Package finished products for shipment
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on machinery as needed
  • Maintain accurate production and quality standards throughout runs
  • Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure smooth operations

Qualifications

  • Previous slitting machine operation experience preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
  • Ability to read and use precision measuring tools
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Reliable attendance and a consistent work schedule required, must have transportation
  • Good communication with team members and supervisors. Manufacturing or industrial experience is a plus
  • Shift schedule and overtime availability (1st shift with overtime as needed)
  • Basic physical requirements (handling master rolls and related production materials up to 100 lbs. with a pump jack and forklift use for loading/unloading)
  • Note that training is provided
  • Mechanical aptitude, QC awareness, and logistics/shipping experience are a plus, but also something we are looking for
  • Follow all safety rules and PPE requirements – maybe some LEAN knowledge
  • Maintain consistent quality during production runs
  • Housekeeping of the area is required
