Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

This role operates slitting machines to process coils of rolled steel into finished products that meet precise quality standards. You will set up and run your own production line, adjust machine settings, and handle materials safely while supporting overall production and shipping activities.

Responsibilities

  • Operate slitting machines to process coils of rolled steel into accurately cut strips according to specifications.
  • Set up slitting machines, including installing and adjusting knives, setting clearances, and verifying proper alignment before production runs.
  • Monitor machine performance and product quality throughout the run, making adjustments as needed to maintain accuracy and consistency.
  • Handle and lift materials up to 25 lbs as part of the machine setup and production process, following safe lifting practices.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2 years of manufacturing experience.
  • At least 2 years of machine operating experience in a production or industrial environment.
  • Experience with general labor tasks in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
  • Ability to safely lift and handle materials up to 25 lbs on a regular basis.
