Job Title: Press Brake Machine Setup OperatorJob DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Brake Press Mechanic (Setup) to support sheet metal fabrication operations. This position is responsible for setting up press brake equipment, installing tooling, validating quality standards, and ensuring efficient production operations. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of press brake setup experience, strong blueprint-reading abilities, and experience working with complex tooling and precision sheet metal fabrication processes.
Responsibilities- Set up press brake machines for various sheet metal production jobs.
- Select, install, and align punches and dies based on part specifications.
- Read work orders, prints, and setup documentation.
- Verify dimensions and tolerances using precision measuring equipment.
- Perform first-piece inspections before releasing jobs to production.
- Troubleshoot setup, tooling, and machine issues.
- Support operators during production runs to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Conduct routine maintenance and machine adjustments as needed.
Essential Skills- 3-5 years of Press Brake setup experience.
- Experience setting up CNC press brake machines for production runs.
- Ability to select, install, and adjust tooling.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and engineering drawings.
- Experience performing first article and in-process inspections.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to maintain quality, efficiency, and safety standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience with CNC programming knowledge.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices.
- Forklift operation experience.
- Sheet metal fabricator experience.

Work EnvironmentThis role is based in a manufacturing and sheet metal fabrication facility that is climate controlled. Expect frequent interaction with CNC press brakes and tooling systems, involving standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the workday. You will be exposed to fabrication machinery, moving equipment, and metal materials. Personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed footwear is required. The environment is fast-paced and focused on safety, quality, and production efficiency.
