Materion's Brewster, NY facility is seeking a trusted, 'value-add' Human Resources Manager who can manage high impact Human Resource functions in a high growth, expanding facility in Brewster, NY with approximately 80 employees, including staffing, performance management, talent development, positive employee relations, as well as helping to create an inclusive environment where all employees can do their best work.
This role reports to the HR Director and works closely with the Brewster leadership team and workforce, as well as HR colleagues across the organization.
You will have the opportunity to:
  • Serve as HR business partner to the Brewster Leadership Team
  • Deploy HR processes and initiatives to support business objectives and advance the people agenda including compensation, performance management, staffing, workforce development, employee relations, and succession planning
  • Build positive relationships across all levels; be a trusted advisor to business leaders and employees, providing coaching and direction in HR related matters
  • Participate in HR continuous improvement initiatives at the local and global level
  • Keep abreast of employment law changes and trends that impact the business
  • Lead continued US Apprenticeship program development and expansion across multiple businesses and sites. Ensure program stays compliant with various requirements.
  • Program management of all career ladders (EM, PM, and Technical); Development / execution of career ladder roadmap. Lead the effort in continuous improvement in each of the programs.
  • Talent & Performance reviews - operationalization of succession plans, implementation of new/additional talent activities (i.e. stay interviews, preparation for talent review, calibrations, et al)

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • A minimum of five years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment
  • A minimum of two years of supervisory experience or leading projects or teams
  • Experience in a collaborative, matrixed environment with track record of achieving results
  • IT Savvy and proficient in Microsoft office applications
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in conflict resolution, disciplinary processes and workplace investigations
  • Strong team player who enjoys interaction with people of all levels in an organization
  • Solid communication skills - both written and verbal, with demonstrated ability to interface with employees at all levels and to communicate through multiple channels up, down, and across
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; works with minimum supervision, takes initiative and proactively seeks areas for improvement
  • Strong relationship building and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and cross-businesses.
  • Strong project management skills.

Pay Range:
$101,500.00 - $162,100.00
Actual base salary offered varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
