Our After School Daycare Program is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Group Leaders to join the team! This position starts at $17 per hour and is part time 17.5 hours per week during the school year & 35 hours per week during summer & school breaks.
The Group Leader is responsible for creating and leading a safe, supportive, and engaging after-school environment for children. This role involves planning and implementing age-appropriate activities while working collaboratively with Assistant Group Leaders to foster positive experiences that encourage children's growth, participation, and social development.
*The school year hours are Monday through Friday 2:00 p.m. -5:30 p.m.The 35 hour schedule during summer and school breaks is TBD based on program needs.
Responsibilities include: 
  • Supervise children and maintain a safe, structured program environment.
  • Actively engage with children through play, conversation and activities to support positive relationship and participation
  • Plan and implement daily activities with support from Assistant Group Leaders.
  • Complete  lesson plans and program documents on time with input from all group members.
  • Support team organization, including goal sheets, progress reports and time sheets
  • Ensure that injuries and incidents are documented In a timely manner
  • Submit supply request as needed.
  • Communicate important updates and information to team members
  • Attend all staff meetings and training as required.
  • Maintain equipment and daycare property.
  • Communicate absences in a timely manner according to program expectations.
  • Maintain a professional and respectful approach with children, families and staff
  • Report any significant behaviors to the Jr Site Coordinator or Social Worker, as appropriate.

The ideal candidate must be 18 years of age and meet one of the following requirements:
  • Have a Bachelor's Degree or an Associates Degree and have three months experience working with school age children, or;
  • Have a High School Diploma or equivalent and have six months experience working with school age children including three months of supervised experience at a school age child care program, or;
  • Have nine months experience with school age children including three months of supervised experience at a school age child care program.  

**Must be able to pass a CORI/SORI and fingerprinting check.
