Job description

Group Management Services (GMS) is seeking to hire a full time Benefits Account Manager with an aptitude for providing quality client service.

Primary Responsibilities:

In summary, the Benefits Account Manager is responsible for preparation and delivery of Benefits renewals, and meeting retention quotas. They serve as a primary contact for clients to provide daily customer service, to build relationships, and to meet face-to-face as per GMS

guidelines.

Further job duties include but not limited to: 

  • Manage client load; prepare and present renewal package for GMS blocks of business, produce client specific reporting and recommend changes to the current offering as needed
  • Build relationships with clients to ensure quality service; meet with and educate GMS clients prior to renewal to review plan usage, trends and claims that drive the renewal
  • Present benefits package to client; explain plan designs and options for plan adjustments while making recommendations on changes to current offerings as necessary
  • Conduct informational and enrollment meetings with client, their employees, and occasionally new hires to explain healthcare plan
  • Keep record of customer interactions by recording details of inquiry, complaints, and comments as well as action taken in GMS' CRM system
  • Maintain a high rate of client retention through quality service
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications we look for:

  • Education – Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience – 1-2 years related experience or equivalent combination of education is acceptable; prefer experience in account management and employee benefits administration
  • Licenses - Current state's license in Life and Health insurance is required to be obtained within 90 days of employment; valid driver's license is required for this role that will be traveling 50-75% of the time
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Base salary range of $50,000-$55,000 commensurate with experience
  • Full Benefits – Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, Tuition Assistance
  • 3 weeks of PTO in years 1-5; five weeks of PTO in years 6+ with 8 paid holidays included every year
  • Monthly Personal Reimbursement Programs available (cell phone and mileage)
