Position Overview
We are seeking compassionate, dependable, and flexible Paraprofessionals to join our school team in San Francisco. Paraprofessionals are assigned to a school campus and provide support wherever student needs are greatest. This position requires individuals who are adaptable and committed to supporting students with a wide range of academic, behavioral, and personal care needs.
No two days are the same, and successful candidates are team players who are willing to assist in any capacity needed to ensure students receive a safe, supportive, and inclusive educational experience.
Responsibilities
- Support students in classroom and school settings.
- Assist students with academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
- Provide personal care, including toileting and diapering, when required.
- Assist with feeding, including g-tube feeding (training provided as applicable).
- Support students with mobility, transfers, and daily living activities.
- Follow student Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and behavior support plans.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, therapists, and other school staff.
- Maintain student confidentiality and adhere to all district policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience working with children or individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required.
- Ability to maintain professionalism, patience, and compassion in a fast-paced school environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to perform physical duties associated with student support, including lifting, assisting with mobility, and providing personal care.
Important Information
Paraprofessionals are assigned to a campus rather than a specific classroom. Assignments are based on student and campus needs and may change throughout the school year.
All paraprofessionals must be willing and able to perform a variety of duties, including:
- Toileting assistance
- Diapering
- Feeding assistance
- G-tube feeding (with appropriate training)
- Other personal care and instructional support responsibilities as assigned
