About Us
The Francis Howell School District (FHSD) is dedicated to providing a safe and engaging environment for our students. We are seeking a proactive Paraprofessional to support our recess programs and ensure a positive experience for all students.
Job Summary
The Paraprofessional - Recess performs general duties to maintain a safe and orderly environment during recess and supports student engagement through organized activities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Attend Training: Participate in in-service training to gather information needed for the role.
  • Implement Discipline: Enforce discipline procedures to help students follow rules.
  • Maintain Equipment: Ensure playground equipment is in working order and replenish supplies as needed.
  • Monitor Students: Supervise students during recess to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Organize Activities: Plan and execute indoor and outdoor activities to keep students engaged.
  • Report Issues: Communicate discipline concerns to teachers and principals; report safety hazards to relevant personnel.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience: Job-related experience is desired.

  • Skills:
    • Ability to perform multiple tasks and maintain accurate records
    • Basic math skills
    • Clear communication and understanding of written procedures

  • Knowledge:
    • Basic math, including fractions, percents, and ratios
    • Relevant policies, regulations, and laws

  • Abilities:
    • Schedule and organize activities

Work Environment
