Job description

Recess/Lunchroom Paraprofessional
10:45 AM - 12:45 PM, M-F (on student days)


Are you interested in a few hours of work a day while your children are in school or looking for work but not a full day of work?  Chatfield Elementary (PreK-Grade 2) has an opening for student supervision on the playground during recess and in the lunchroom.
Job Summary:
Supervise students on the playground or in the lunchroom with an emphasis on providing a safe environment. Successful applicant will be able to create positive relationships with students, enjoy interacting with elementary age students, while holding them accountable for positive, respectful, and safe behavior. Must work collaboratively with other adult supervisors. 



Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED and experience working with the children, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements
This work requires the frequent exertion of up to 10 pounds of force and occasional exertion of up to 25 pounds of force; work regularly requires speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel and reaching with hands and arms, frequently requires standing, walking, sitting, lifting and repetitive motions and occasionally requires climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling and pushing or pulling; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operating machines and observing general surroundings and activities; work occasionally requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions and exposure to bloodborne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).

Special Requirements
Applicable district or department training will be provided and must be completed upon hire.
A background check is required upon hire.
Pay and Benefits:
Pay range is $17.88-$20.82/hour, based on experience. This is subject to changed based on 2025-2027 BPESP contract.
Earned Safe & Sick Time based on hours worked.
FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt
