Job description

Job Title: Multi-Lingual Learner (MLL) Paraprofessional

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Multi-Lingual Learner (MLL) Paraprofessional to support students in developing English proficiency and academic success. The ideal candidate will assist ELL students in the classroom, provide small-group or one-on-one instruction, and collaborate with teachers to create an inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support ELL students in acquiring English language skills, including speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
  • Assist teachers in modifying and adapting instructional materials to meet the needs of ELL students.
  • Provide one-on-one or small-group support to reinforce classroom instruction.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages language development and student engagement.
  • Monitor and document student progress, providing feedback to teachers and school staff.
  • Assist with the implementation of language acquisition strategies and interventions.
  • Support students in understanding academic content by using visual aids, gestures, and simplified language.
  • Facilitate communication between ELL students, teachers, and parents as needed.
  • Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, or other school activities as assigned.
  • Participate in professional development and training related to ELL education.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma with willingness to participate in additional training and professional development as needed.
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish preferred
  • Experience working with English language learners or in an educational setting preferred but not required.
