Qualifications

  • Certification: Must hold an active ISBE Endorsement, General Administrator (K-12) Principal Endorsement.

  • Education Level: A Master's or Doctorate degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field is required. EdD or PhD in a related field is preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of progressive experience in educational leadership roles, including a proven track record of driving educational excellence, student achievement, and innovative program development. Familiarity with the K-12 education landscape and an understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by urban education systems.

  • Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership abilities with the capacity to inspire, motivate, and lead a diverse team of educators and support staff effectively. Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, instruction, data analysis, and educational best practices.

  • Strategic Vision: A forward-thinking, strategic mindset with the ability to set long-term educational goals and design comprehensive plans to achieve them.

  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively engage with stakeholders, build relationships, and work collaboratively with diverse teams. A collaborative and inclusive leadership style, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.

Physical Job Requirements:

The usual and customary methods of performing the jobโ€™s functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and or pulling; some kneeling, crouching, and significant finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 30% sitting, 40% walking and 30% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and climate controlled environment.
