Our client is seeking a BHT or Paraprofessional to provide service in a school setting in Fort Washington, PA area. Experience with behavioral and autism preferred.
**PUBLIC TRANS ACCESSIBLE**
CLIENT'S SUMMARY OF OPPORTUNITY
The BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TECH or PARAPROFESSIONAL will accompany students for the ESY school day to assist with peer interactions and access to the educational environment. Assistance will include, but is not limited to:
* School setting
* High School aged students w/ behaviors & Elementary School aged students w/ lower level autism
* At least one year experience working with the above populations
* Supervising and monitoring inclusive activities throughout the school day
* Ensuring student's safety within school building and surrounding areas
* Supporting student's academic, social, adaptive, communication, and behavioral needs
* Escorting students to and from bus, classes, nurse, therapies, etc.
* Utilizing behavioral system and providing prompts across settings
* Transitioning students between activities
* Supporting sensory/exercise program
* Helping the teacher facilitate technology in the classroom
CLIENT'S REQUIREMENTS
* Must possess a positive demeanor and demonstrate enthusiasm for supporting students and helping them navigate through academic and social challenges.
* Ability to maintain patience and take child's development stage into consideration.
