Job Summary: The Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) provides professional nursing care to adult and geriatric patients, applying nursing principles to assess, prepare, and assist with treatments and procedures in accordance with established clinical guidelines. This position is at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Diploma of LPN or LVN, from and accredited National League of Nursing (NLN) approved program.
  • Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA).
  • License: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
  • Experience: Licensed Practical Nurse for one (1) year prior to start. Must have Acute Care hospital or Inpatient Rehab Facility or Center experience

U.S. Citizenship is required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of a wide range of medical disorders/conditions, diagnostic studies and treatments related to prevention, and detection of illnesses in adults, is desirable.
  • The contracted LPN/LVN will be knowledgeable in professional care theories, principles, practices, and procedures to perform nursing assignments of moderate difficulty and experience in assessing adult and geriatric patients, as appropriate.
  • Knowledge of computer operations and proficiency in the use of basic word processing, data entry and automated medical records.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in conduct to include but not limited to interactions with other team members, willingness to admit areas where improvement in skill is needed, honesty in documentation of work hours and leave requests, receive, and respond to feedback provided by other members of the team.
  • Use the nursing process as a basis for professional practice. The contracted LPN/LVN will demonstrate proper assessment, preparation of patients for treatments and procedures, to include surgical interventions.
  • Perform/assist with clinic specific procedures, in accordance with established policies, and guidelines used in the MTF and IAW JC guidelines. Supervise all paraprofessionals necessary in the care and treatment of the patient. Skill in setting up, operating and monitoring specialized medical equipment such as IV infusion pumps, cardiac monitoring devices, EKG units, oxygen analyzers, nebulizers and other clinic specific equipment

Work Environment & Schedule: Onsite, Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm

Compensation & Benefits: $21.63 per hour (base) + $6.87 per hour (premium) + $4.93 (H&W)

Physical requirements: May be required to lift 2545 pounds independently, with the ability to lift greater weights (up to 75100+ pounds) with assistance or mechanical lifting devices.
