Fractional Assistant information

What is a fractional assistant?

A fractional assistant is a part-time or contract worker who provides administrative or specialized support to a business or executive on a flexible basis, often working remotely. They typically handle tasks such as scheduling, correspondence, or project management using tools like email and calendar software, and may work for multiple clients simultaneously.

What are the top 5 virtual assistants?

The top five virtual assistants widely used in the industry are Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Apple Siri, Microsoft Cortana, and Samsung Bixby. These assistants are integrated into various devices and support voice commands, automation, and task management, making them popular choices for personal and professional use. For a fractional assistant role, familiarity with these platforms can enhance productivity and client support.

What is an EA salary?

An Executive Assistant (EA) salary varies based on experience, location, and industry, but typically ranges from $50,000 to $80,000 annually in the United States. EAs often receive benefits such as health insurance and paid time off, and may work full-time schedules with proficiency in office software and organizational skills.

What are Fractional Assistants?

Fractional Assistants are experienced professionals who provide administrative, operational, or specialized support to multiple clients or businesses on a part-time or as-needed basis. Unlike traditional full-time assistants, fractional assistants work remotely and dedicate a set number of hours per week or month to each client, offering flexibility and cost-efficiency. They often help with calendar management, email organization, project coordination, research, and other essential tasks, allowing businesses to access high-quality support without the commitment of a full-time hire.

How do Fractional Assistants typically manage communication and workflow across multiple clients or teams?

Fractional Assistants often work with several clients or teams simultaneously, which requires strong organizational and communication skills. They typically use project management tools, shared calendars, and regular check-ins to stay aligned with each client's priorities and deadlines. Balancing competing demands can be challenging, so setting clear expectations and establishing consistent communication channels is essential. This approach ensures tasks are completed efficiently and maintains transparency with all stakeholders.

What is the difference between Fractional Assistant vs Virtual Assistant?

AspectFractional AssistantVirtual Assistant

The main difference is that a Fractional Assistant offers specialized, part-time support tailored to specific business needs, often with more experience or training. A Virtual Assistant provides general administrative support remotely, usually on a more flexible, less specialized basis.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Fractional Assistant, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Fractional Assistant, you need excellent organizational skills, multitasking abilities, and experience in administrative support, often backed by prior roles as an executive or virtual assistant. Familiarity with productivity tools like Google Workspace, project management platforms such as Asana or Trello, and communication tools like Slack or Zoom is typically required. Strong time management, proactive communication, and adaptability help distinguish top performers in this role. These skills enable Fractional Assistants to efficiently support multiple clients or executives, ensuring smooth operations and effective task completion remotely.

What qualifications do I need to be a virtual assistant?

To be a fractional assistant, relevant qualifications include strong organizational and communication skills, proficiency in office software like Microsoft Office or Google Workspace, and experience in administrative tasks. While formal education is not always required, some roles may prefer or require a high school diploma or equivalent, along with familiarity with specific tools or industry knowledge depending on the client’s needs.

Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Fractional Paid Media Specialist based in the Netherlands.

This role is a high-impact, hands-on performance marketing position focused on scaling demand generation across multiple paid acquisition channels. You will be responsible for driving efficient growth through data-driven PPC strategies, with a strong emphasis on high-intent search and developer-focused acquisition. Operating in a fast-moving AI and developer tools environment, you will work closely with the Growth team to design, execute, and continuously optimize campaigns. The role blends strategic ownership with deep operational execution, requiring someone comfortable iterating quickly and independently. You will also play a key role in introducing automation and AI-driven workflows to improve performance and efficiency. This is an opportunity to directly influence pipeline growth for a cutting-edge product used by global tech leaders.

Accountabilities:
  • Own and optimize end-to-end PPC campaign performance across Google Search, LinkedIn, Reddit, and other experimental channels.
  • Develop and implement paid media strategies focused on high-intent acquisition, conversion optimization, and pipeline quality.
  • Build and manage campaign structures, keyword strategies, bidding logic, and budget allocation to maximize ROI.
  • Design and run structured A/B testing programs for ad creatives, messaging, audiences, and landing pages.
  • Leverage AI tools and automation workflows to streamline campaign management, reporting, and optimization processes.
  • Use LLMs and AI-driven tools for keyword research, audience analysis, competitor insights, and creative ideation.
  • Monitor performance metrics, build forecasts, and provide actionable insights to guide growth decisions.
  • Continuously optimize campaigns for conversion efficiency, cost control, and scalable acquisition.
  • Identify and test new acquisition channels and growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Growth team to align paid media efforts with broader marketing and product goals.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in performance marketing or paid media roles.
  • Strong expertise in Google Ads Search campaigns, including structure, bidding strategies, and optimization.
  • Proven experience in managing performance campaigns for SaaS, developer tools, or technical audiences.
  • Solid understanding of keyword strategy, conversion tracking, attribution models, and performance analytics.
  • Hands-on experience with campaign experimentation, A/B testing, and landing page optimization.
  • Familiarity with AI tools, automation platforms, and modern marketing workflows.
  • Ability to work independently in a fractional, fast-paced, and high-ownership environment.
  • Experience with LinkedIn Ads and/or Reddit Ads is a strong plus.
  • Exposure to tools such as GA4, GTM, Segment, or server-side tracking is advantageous.
  • Comfortable using LLMs for research, copy generation, and workflow optimization.
  • Strong analytical mindset combined with creative problem-solving abilities.
Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation aligned with fractional senior-level performance marketing roles.
  • Fully remote work setup with flexible working hours and async-friendly culture.
  • Opportunity to work on a leading open-source AI infrastructure product used by global tech companies.
  • High autonomy and ownership over paid media strategy and execution.
  • Access to cutting-edge AI tools and modern growth marketing practices.
  • Collaborative, engineering-driven and innovation-focused environment.
  • Opportunity to experiment with new channels and advanced automation workflows.
  • Flexible work approach designed for experienced independent operators.
  • Potential US-based benefits (where applicable), including health coverage and retirement plans.
