Fleet Associate I

Job Description 

The Fleet Associate I is responsible for remove-and-replace (R&R) work, basic mechanical tasks, and hands-on support to maintain fleet readiness across both Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles (WAV) and Electric Vehicles (EV). This role focuses on routine service, component replacement, cosmetic repairs, and roadside support while escalating complex or safety-critical repairs to senior technicians. 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Perform comprehensive remove-and-replace (R&R) and related service tasks on mechanical, structural, electrical, and cosmetic components. This will include body panels, braking and suspension parts, cooling systems, tires and wheels, interior/exterior trim, and basic maintenance items. 

  • Provide roadside assistance including flat tire service, jump starts, and basic vehicle support; coordinate tow trucks when required after on field inspection. 

  • Assist with basic ICE maintenance where applicable and support vehicle setup and teardown activities. 

Additional Duties:  

  • Escalate all high-voltage EV, structural, powered WAV, or safety-critical repairs outside assigned scope to Fleet Associate II, Lead Tech, or Supervisor. 

  • Install and remove Samsara cameras and related equipment as needed. 

General Skills & Qualifications: 

  • Strong communication skills for effective internal and external collaboration. 

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with a focus on continuous improvement in learning. 

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and showcase the ability to take initiative, value collaboration, and become highly adaptable. 

  • Expert organizational management ensuring a strong focus on workflow structure. 

  • Strong hands-on approach with a willingness to tackle problems.

  • Be able to quickly learn new applications, software, and dashboards as adopted and used within the company.  

  • Must have an active driver’s license and be approved on the company’s insurance.  

  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance as needed.
