Job description

About Us
Office Hours is an on-demand expert network that connects leading organizations with trusted experts across various knowledge domains. Experts earn income by sharing their knowledge through advisory work, projects, and AI model training. Our platform handles the complexities behind the scenes- screening, compliance, scheduling, and payments-so knowledge sharing stays focused on meaningful insights and real impact.
We're a hyper-growth and profitable company, quickly expanding our expert network, launching new offices, and new products. We are headquartered in San Francisco, with offices in Brooklyn and Bangalore. Our customers include the fastest-growing digital health companies, technology companies, institutional investment firms, consulting firms and AI Labs. We are backed by top marketplace investors and operators of companies like DoorDash, Airbnb, Affirm.
What we believe
Human knowledge is the world's most valuable asset. And yet, despite being more interconnected than ever, most knowledge still remains stuck in our heads, inaccessible and underutilized. Our vision is to make human knowledge easily accessible and infinitely scalable by building tools for the new age knowledge economy.
About the role
As a Financial Operations Associate, you will sit at the intersection of Sales, Client Success, and Finance. In a high-volume marketplace environment, your mission is to ensure every expert consultation is tracked, billed, and collected accurately, while optimizing the workflows that drive our revenue. This role is not just Excel and formulas. You will ensure the engine of the marketplace runs smoothly and become an integral part of the front lines for both demand and supply.
While this is a junior role, we are looking for a "force multiplier." Reporting to the Head of Finance and Operations, this person will have a front-row seat to how the business scales. We need someone who does not just flag problems, but brings three potential solutions.
What you'll do
Key Responsibilities
  • Revenue Operations: Monitor and manage the "Quote-to-Cash" lifecycle. Ensure sales contracts are accurately represented in our billing systems, and that project margins remain healthy.
  • Marketplace Integrity: Reconcile high volumes of transaction data (expert hours vs. client billing) to ensure there is no leakage in the marketplace.
  • Sales Partnership: Serve as a dedicated resource for the Sales and Account Management teams to resolve billing disputes, custom pricing requests, and credit issues.
  • Process Automation: Identify bottlenecks in current billing and payment workflows. Partner with the tech/product teams to automate manual data entry and improve reporting accuracy.
  • Accounts Receivable (AR) Management: Manage collections with a "customer-success" mindset, maintaining professional communication with high-profile clients while keeping Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) low.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Prepare weekly KPIs on revenue pacing, consultant spend, and operational efficiency for the leadership team.
What you bring
  • 0-3 years of experience in fintech, SaaS, or a high-volume marketplace
  • An operations-first mindset - you get excited about building a better workflow or process before anything else, and you naturally get into the weeds to solve problems before they scale
  • Financial literacy with a process focus - you don't need a traditional finance background, but you understand the numbers, can input into financial models, and are eager to grow into a financial analyst capacity over time
  • Excel fluency - VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables are your baseline; you're the person who builds the better spreadsheet
  • Obsessive attention to detail - in a marketplace, a $0.50 error on 1,000 transactions is a real problem; you catch small issues before they compound
  • Clear, confident communication - you can translate finance-speak into sales-speak, push back on a Sales Director when a contract is missing data, and do it with a smile; you're comfortable working cross-functionally with Legal, CS, and Sales
  • At least one year of work experience or strong internships - industry doesn't matter, but you've held a real job, know how to operate in a professional environment, and are hungry to grow
Benefits + Perks
  • Competitive salary and equity
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k)
  • Monthly wellness and fitness stipend
  • Paid time off policy, along with company holidays
  • Annual company off-sites (Tahoe, Mendocino, Mexico City, San Diego, Park City)
  • Parent-friendly policies, remote flexibility, and paid family leave

Pay Transparency Notice
Full-time offers include base salary, equity, and benefits.
Pay range: $75,000-$90,000 based on seniority and relevant experience
This is a hybrid role, in our San Francisco or New York office 2-3 times per week.
