Our offerings include a diverse catalog of off-the-shelf datasets (image, video, multimodal, reasoning, 3D, and beyond) as well as comprehensive data collection and annotation services. Whether teams need raw data, curated datasets, or full-cycle data engineering, Abaka AI provides the foundation for building high-performance AI systems.
About the Role

You will work closely with leadership, operations, HR, legal, and external accounting partners to ensure accurate financial records, efficient payment processes, and strong operational controls. As one of the early members of our Finance Operations team, you will help design scalable systems that support rapid company growth.
Responsibilities
  • Own the accounts payable process, including reviewing invoices, processing payments, and maintaining vendor records.
  • Track employee reimbursements, corporate card expenses, and operational spending.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, payment platforms, and financial transactions.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes with external accounting partners.
  • Maintain accurate financial documentation, invoices, purchase records, and payment history.
  • Monitor budgets, department spending, and vendor costs to help leadership make informed decisions.
  • Assist with financial forecasting, reporting, and ad hoc business analysis.
  • Coordinate with HR on payroll-related operations and employee compensation documentation.
  • Partner with Legal and Operations to ensure contracts, invoices, and purchase orders remain aligned.
  • Improve internal finance processes through automation, documentation, and operational best practices.
  • Support tax, audit, and compliance activities by maintaining organized financial records.

Qualifications
  • 0-3 years of experience in finance operations, accounting, financial analysis, bookkeeping, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, financial statements, and operational finance processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets and financial systems such as Excel, Google Sheets, QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar ERP/accounting platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with leadership, HR, legal, and external accounting firms.
  • Experience in AI, technology, or high-growth startups is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • CPA, CMA, or other accounting certifications are a plus but not required.

Compensation & Benefits
The base salary range for this position is $85,000 - $100,000 USD annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience. This role is eligible for equity, as well as a comprehensive benefits package (health, dental, vision, PTO, flexible work schedule).
