About Buffalo Solar
Buffalo Solar is a leading commercial solar EPC serving businesses throughout New York. As we continue to grow, we're seeking a Finance Operations Coordinator to oversee our day-to-day financial operations and help build scalable processes that support our expanding business. As Buffalo Solar continues to grow, this role is expected to expand into a leadership position overseeing finance operations, process improvement, and the continued development of the company's finance function.
Position Summary
The Finance Operations Coordinator is responsible for the execution of Buffalo Solar's financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, employee benefits, project billing, and accounting support. Working closely with company leadership and our Fractional CFO, this role helps ensure accurate financial records, healthy cash flow, and efficient business operations.
Responsibilities
  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, customer billing, and collections.
  • Coordinate payroll, employee benefits, and HR-related financial administration.
  • Prepare project billings, draw requests, and support job cost and WIP reporting.
  • Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks Online and assist with month-end close.
  • Support budgeting, reporting, lender requests, audits, and tax preparation.
  • Maintain vendor compliance, insurance certificates, W-9s, and financial documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and internal controls.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or finance operations experience.
  • Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks Online (preferred).
  • Construction, project-based accounting, or renewable energy experience is a plus.
