Job description

LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (LMS) COURSE SPECIALIST

Location: Fort Sill, Oklahoma


Position Description (PD)

The LMS Course Specialist develops, administers, and sustains Army Distributed Learning capabilities utilizing Blackboard or successor LMS platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop online courses within LMS platforms
  • Administer and manage LMS user accounts and content
  • Manage community engagement within LMS
  • Maintain course content lifecycle
  • Complete required Army Blackboard certifications and training modules within the timeframe specified in the PWS
  • Ensure LMS configurations comply with Army cybersecurity and data protection standards


Position Qualifications

  • Minimum two (2) years developing online courses within LMS platforms
  • Minimum two (2) years administering LMS user accounts and course management
  • Minimum two (2) years managing community engagement and content lifecycle within online training systems
  • Experience managing online training systems
  • Completion of required Army Blackboard training modules within 30 days of award. Blackboard 101, 201, 301, Institutional Hierarchy, LCMS Interface to ATRRS, and Certificate Management Tool training as required by the PWS
  • Must possess and maintain a SECRET clearance (final eligibility) prior to starting performance
