Pay Range: $23.15 - $27.25

The HR Assistant II is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support for the Human Resources department to run smoothly in the day-to-day operations.

Essential Job Functions

  • Perform weekly payroll tasks to include calculation and payout of sick, jury, funeral and holiday pay. Adjust attendance based on notes provided by employees for absences. Generate reports such as Attendance and Action, Quarterly Highlights, Turnover as needed.
  • Create, maintain and track LOA's.
  • Assist with the hiring and selection process for entry level positions. This includes pre-screen applications, interview and select candidates for positions. Additionally, schedule drug screens and run backgrounds checks.
  • Assist team members with questions regarding employment, leaves of absence, benefits, pay, partial wage forms, etc.
  • Provide quality control for all paperwork scanned over to Central Human Resources for processing for areas of support.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties including typing (memos, job letters, etc.), issuing I.D. badges, wage loss verification requests, ordering distributing partials wage forms, SDI claims forms, etc.
  • Provide support/backup to the HR Business Partner.
  • Assist in the planning of company recreational events such as cookouts, luncheons, dinners, etc. as well as coordinating travel arrangements as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Must be a high school graduate, an AA or BS degree is preferred
  • A minimum of 1 year of HR experience
  • Must have good interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and etc.
  • Bi-lingual in English/Spanish is preferred.
  • Must be able to work in fast-paced environment requiring simultaneous multi- tasking.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to submit and pass a criminal background check.
