Federal Work Study - Human Resources 2026-2027

Must be a Bay College student in the work study program to be considered for this position.

Position Details

Position Title - Federal Work Study - Human Resources 2026-2027

Pay Rate - $13.73 per hour

Position Type - Student

Job Summary/Basic Function - The purpose of the Federal Work-Study Program is to give a student an opportunity to develop skills, gain on-the-job experience for future employment, and give the student flexibility to work around class schedules.

Minimum Qualifications - Must be a Bay College student in the work study program to be considered for this position. Eligibility for work-study is determined after you file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).Work-study requires that you are degree seeking and enrolled in a minimum of one credit that applies towards the semester you are employed.You must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress.

Preferred Qualifications - Previous training or experience in customer servicePrevious training or experience working in Microsoft Word and Excel

Work Hours - Average 10-15 hours per week, dependent upon your work study award.

Supervision Received - Works under the direction of the Director of Human Resources and Human Resource Specialist.

Job Duties

  • Assist with clerical duties for Human Resources, Academic Affairs, and President Office as assigned.
  • Operate telephone and answer and transfer calls.
  • Take messages and communicate to appropriate person.
  • Greet visitors and escort them to appropriate person.
  • Respond to visitor's questions professionally and courteously.
  • Create databases/tables/queries/reports and input data as assigned.
  • Electronic Filing / Scanning
  • Create and maintain employee personnel files ensuring compliance with records retention schedule.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all records including personnel issues, background checks, hiring information etc.
  • Assist with background checks.
  • Assist with data entry into HRIS system.
  • Assist with candidate recruitment
  • Assist with data entry, descriptions, and postings in the position management system
  • Assist with work-study and tutor hiring.
  • Assist with mass mailings.
  • Performs light cleaning and maintain office supplies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
