Summary:
The Recruiter is responsible for supporting and managing full-cycle recruiting activities for an engineering and manufacturing organization. This position partners with hiring managers and leadership to identify staffing needs, attract and assess qualified candidates, and deliver an efficient, positive candidate experience. Responsibilities include position intake, sourcing, screening, interview coordination, candidate selection, offers, pre-employment requirements, and new-hire transition. The Recruiter helps ensure recruiting practices comply with applicable federal and state employment laws, company policies, and established hiring procedures. This position is performed primarily on-site and requires a consistent in-person presence to effectively partner with hiring managers, support business operations, and provide exceptional service to candidates and employees. Occasional local travel is required to support career fairs, job fairs, educational institutions, community events, and other recruiting-related activities.
Level I:
Entry-level: supports full-cycle recruiting activities under general supervision, including candidate sourcing, interview coordination, recruiting administration, and pre-employment processes while developing knowledge of recruiting best practices and employment laws.
Level II:
Intermediate; independently manages full-cycle recruitment for assigned positions. Partners with hiring managers to develop sourcing strategies, evaluate candidates, coordinate the hiring process, maintain recruiting systems and records, analyze recruiting metrics, and ensure compliance with applicable employment laws, company policies, and established hiring procedures.
Essential Job Functions:
• Manage assigned requisitions through the full recruitment lifecycle, including position intake, sourcing, screening, interviewing, candidate selection, employment offers, pre-employment requirements, and onboarding coordination.
• Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs, define position requirements, and support hiring decisions.
• Develop and post job descriptions, advertisements, and other recruitment materials for approved openings.
• Source, screen, evaluate, and recommend qualified candidates using a variety of recruiting channels while maintaining talent pipelines for current and future staffing needs.
• Coordinate interviews, facilitate communication throughout the hiring process, and advise hiring managers on recruiting processes and candidate selection.
• Prepare employment offers and coordinate pre-employment activities, including background checks, drug screenings, employment verification, and new hire documentation.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential recruiting records within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), Human Resources Information System (HRIS), and other applicable systems.
• Ensure recruiting activities comply with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws, company policies, and established hiring procedures.
• Prepare and maintain recruiting reports and metrics to monitor recruiting effectiveness and support business decisions.
• Support workforce planning initiatives, employer branding, recruiting events, career fairs, community outreach, and relationships with educational institutions, workforce agencies, staffing partners, and other recruiting partners.
• Participate in recruiting-related projects and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance recruiting processes and the candidate experience.
• Provide support to the Human Resources department and perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of full-cycle recruiting practices, talent acquisition strategies, candidate sourcing techniques, and candidate selection methods. Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws related to recruiting, interviewing, hiring, equal employment opportunity, and recordkeeping. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships, conduct effective interviews, influence hiring decisions, and provide exceptional service to candidates and hiring managers. Strong organizational, time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple requisitions, interpret recruiting metrics, identify trends, and adapt to changing business priorities. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), and other recruiting technologies. Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and handle sensitive candidate and organizational information with professionalism. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field preferred. Experience in talent acquisition, recruiting, staffing, or a related Human Resources function, preferably within a manufacturing or engineering environment. Minimum experience requirements are based on job level: Level II requires a minimum of two years of related experience, Level III requires a minimum of five years of related experience, and Level IV requires a minimum of eight years of related experience.
Physical Demands:
Requires prolonged periods of sitting while working at a desk and using a computer. Requires the ability to regularly move throughout the facility to access departments and perform essential job functions. Must be able to occasionally exert up to 20 pounds of force when moving materials related to assigned duties. Requires strong visual acuity, manual dexterity, and the ability to accurately identify and distinguish colors as needed to perform essential job functions.
Work Environment:
The position primarily works in a professional office environment and periodically enters manufacturing and production areas. While in production areas and in accordance with established safety guidelines, the employee may be exposed to noise, moving mechanical parts, oils, solvents, fumes, dust, and odors that may affect the eyes, ears, nose, throat, and skin. Required personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as directed.
This position may require occasional local travel to support recruiting activities, hiring events, networking opportunities, educational institutions, job fairs, and other business-related functions. The employee is expected to comply with all company safety policies and procedures while on company premises and at off-site locations.
