Job description

Simpson Strong-Tie is a leader in engineered structural connectors, software, and solutions for the building industry. We maintain a reputation as a trusted manufacturer, partner, and corporate citizen committed to our customers and employees.
Our founder, Barc Simpson established 9 Principles of Business we live out as company values and have made Simpson Strong-Tie an inspiring place to work since 1956. Our team of talented people are dedicated to our shared mission: to provide solutions that help people design and build safer, stronger structures.
Learn about our company culture directly from our team.
YOU
As the Web & eCommerce Project Manager, you'll play a central role in bringing high-impact digital initiatives to life across the company website and customer portal ecommerce platform. Sitting within the Digital Marketing & eBusiness team, you'll partner closely with IT, development teams, agencies, system integrators, and cross-functional stakeholders to turn ideas into well-executed, high-quality outcomes.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys owning the "how"; bringing structure, clarity, and momentum from intake through delivery. You'll have broad visibility into our platforms, priorities, and stakeholders, and you'll use that insight to help shape smarter decisions, stronger plans, and more predictable delivery. While you won't own the product roadmap or investment decisions, your execution insight and structured analysis will directly inform prioritization, investment, and vendor decisions.
You'll act as the business-side execution owner, ensuring work is clearly defined, thoughtfully sequenced, and delivered with quality and accountability. The role includes light, product-adjacent responsibilities-such as supporting business case development and upfront intake analysis-that help set initiatives up for success and contribute to the evolution of a more formal PRD and delivery process.
This is not a people-management role. Instead, it's an opportunity to work hands-on with complex platforms, experienced partners, and motivated stakeholders-owning delivery, strengthening processes, and making a visible impact on how our digital ecosystem evolves.
If you're energized by complex initiatives, cross-functional collaboration, and being the person who helps teams move from idea to execution, this role offers both meaningful responsibility and room to grow.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Project & Delivery Management (30%)
  • Own end-to-end execution of web and ecommerce initiatives, from intake through delivery
  • Lead day-to-day project activities including planning, tracking, risk management, and stakeholder communication
  • Run daily standups and delivery rituals in a hybrid Scrum / waterfall environment
  • Ensure work is delivered on time, meets quality expectations, and supports platform stability
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs; escalate larger decisions to leadership when appropriate
  • Track project-level budgets, forecasts, and actuals; monitor spend against plan and flag variances or risks

Backlog & Execution Ownership (20%)
  • Partner with stakeholders to prioritize and manage the business backlog
  • Translate business requirements into clear, actionable work for IT and development teams
  • Ensure IT Project Managers and development teams are executing to plan and aligned to priorities
  • Track progress, manage scope, and maintain delivery transparency
  • Support new initiative intake by developing lightweight business cases, including scope definition, high-level effort estimates, dependencies, and expected benefits, in partnership with stakeholders

Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Partnership (15%)
  • Serve as the primary execution partner for Digital Marketing, Sales, and Product stakeholders
  • Collaborate closely with IT development teams, IT Project Managers, and architects
  • Manage day-to-day coordination with agencies and system integrators
  • Facilitate alignment across business and technical teams

Vendor and Partner Management (15%)
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day operational owner for external vendors, agencies, and system integrators
  • Manage delivery coordination, priorities, timelines, and dependencies with vendors to ensure work aligns to agreed scope and business priorities
  • Monitor vendor performance against plans and surface risks or issues to leadership
  • Partner with Digital Marketing & eBusiness leadership on SOWs, RFPs, and contract discussions, while owning ongoing execution once agreements are in place
  • Own day-to-day invoice review, validation, and coordination with Finance to ensure accurate and timely processing

Platform & Technical Collaboration (10%)
  • Develop a strong working understanding of the web and ecommerce platforms to effectively partner with technical teams
  • Articulate technical concepts in business-friendly terms and translate business needs into technical requirements
  • Support initiatives related to ecommerce functionality, CMS updates, MarTech integrations, analytics, and tagging

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence (10%)
  • Help refine and guide existing delivery and intake processes
  • Improve project visibility, predictability, and stakeholder satisfaction
  • Provide input and ideas related to product and platform improvements, while remaining execution-focused
  • Contribute to the evolution of a more formal PRD and intake process by providing upfront analysis and execution-focused inputs
