Job description

Takco is in urgent need of a controller. 

The Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting, and compliance activities. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial information while providing strategic financial guidance to leadership. The ideal candidate possesses a strong accounting background, deep knowledge of GAAP, excellent analytical skills, and proven leadership experience managing accounting and finance functions.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and cash management.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and monitor key financial metrics and management reports.

Accounting & Compliance

  • Maintain strong internal controls and accounting procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Coordinate annual financial audits and serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors.
  • Prepare and review tax-related schedules and support tax filings.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting activities.
  • Monitor budget performance and analyze variances.
  • Partner with department leaders to develop financial plans and cost-control initiatives.
  • Provide financial modeling and strategic analysis to support business decisions.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff.
  • Establish departmental goals, performance standards, and professional development plans.
  • Foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on financial strategy and organizational growth.

Process Improvement

  • Evaluate and improve accounting systems, workflows, and reporting processes.
  • Drive automation initiatives to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support ERP implementations, upgrades, and system integrations as needed.

Accounting Degree highly preferred.

Must be able to work onsite in our Suwanee office.
