Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Attorney to become an integral part of their firm, working closely with clients, partners, and other attorneys to provide counsel, draft legal documents, and contribute to the successful execution of client transactions. You will also work on a wide range of dispute resolution matters including complex commercial litigation, arbitrations and mediations, making a meaningful impact on our clients’ legal needs. Responsibilities:
  • Dispute Resolution Support: Manage a diverse caseload of commercial disputes including mediations, arbitrations and litigation matters from inception to resolution for a range of clients including franchise brand owners. Collaborate with senior partners to develop litigation strategies. Communicate with and represent clients in conferences, hearings, trials, mediation and arbitrations.
  • Client Counseling: Provide legal advice and strategic guidance to clients on a wide range of corporate matters such as labor and employment, compliance/governance, contract negotiation, and more, helping to mitigate clients’ risk by ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Document Drafting: Prepare and review legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and corporate governance documents.
  • Due Diligence and Legal Research: Conduct due diligence reviews and assessments to identify potential legal issues and risks. Stay current on relevant legal developments and conduct research to support client matters.
Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar membership in good standing in NJ, NY or PA.
  • 5+ years of courtroom and dispute resolution experience (both Federal and state) in a reputable law firm
  • Complex commercial dispute resolution experience such as:
    1. Franchise disputes on behalf of franchisors (preferred but not required)
    2. Employment and labor
    3. Company disputes over ownership, dissolution and disassociation
    4. Breach of contract
    5. M&A (nice to have)
    6. Defending a manufacturer against disputes or claims stemming from a product allegedly causing injury
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work proactively and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
