Position Summary

The Direct Sales Representative is responsible for selling Buckeye Broadband services to residential customers within an assigned territory.

The Direct Sales Representative is responsible for working sales events to sell Buckeye Broadband services to attendees of the event.

The Direct Sales Representative is responsible for achieving sales goals assigned monthly by the Supervisor, Direct Sales and Events.

The Direct Sales Representative works independently in the field up to 90% of the week and may be required to use their own personal vehicle in the event a company vehicle is not available.

The Direct Sales Representative reports to the Supervisor, Direct Sales and Events.

Essential Functions

  • Cold canvass assigned subdivision territory and makes sales presentation to non-subscribers and existing subscribers for upgrades;
  • Through various networking tactics, identify and contact customers moving into new home subdivisions/MDUs and makes sales presentations;
  • Build positive relationships with MDU property management and leasing staff to ensure Buckeye Broadband products and services are favorably presented to prospective tenants;
  • Strategically work with the Manager, Sales & Supervisor, Direct Sales and Events to increase subdivision/MDU RGU penetration numbers;
  • Work closely with the Supervisor, Direct Sales and Events to execute sales programs for events to maximize lead conversion, sales revenue and profitability;
  • Support new offers, products and campaign launches;
  • May be required to wear a compnay issued body camera for safety and training puroposes.
  • Maintain monthly and quarterly goals as outlined by Supervisor, Direct Sales and Events;
  • Generate daily sales orders and keep documentation of sales orders taken;
  • Create and maintain successful interdepartmental relationships;
  • Participate in team sales contests and sales events;
  • Work evenings and weekends to maximize customer contact;
  • Conduct all business in an ethical manner;
  • Attend and participate in all scheduled team meetings;
  • Maintain current job knowledge through completion of on-going training opportunities;
  • Follow all Company policies and procedures, including EEO and safety guidelines, at all times;
  • Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned or as become evident.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent – required
  • 5 Years of door-to-door/face-to-face sales experience – highly preferred

  • Working Conditions:
  • The Direct Sales Representative is an exempt commissioned position, earning a weekly base rate plus the current commission structure.
  • The regular workweek is typically evening hours and weekends and when people are home, with additional hours as needed to meet sales quotas or attend events.
  • The Direct Sales Representative is required to drive on the job as needed and is subject to regular MVR checks. He/she must maintain a valid driver’s license and maintain a driving record that meets Company standards for an insurable driver at all times. Any time these conditions are not met, he/she must not drive on the job and must immediately report it to their supervisor.
