Job description

Location: Mt. Sterling, IL
Department: Customer Service and Development
Reports To: Customer Service Manager
Wage Range: $22.49 – 33.73 per hour, plus bonus opportunity

As a Customer Development Representative, you will drive sales growth within existing accounts that demonstrate strong potential, manage accounts requiring additional support or have limited geographic access, and contribute to onboarding efforts that ensure a positive experience for new customers.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Act as primary Dot Foods contact for existing customers within the assigned region and assess, pursue, and close on business opportunities.
  • Manage all order processing and administrative tasks for assigned accounts.
  • Increase average order size through proactive solicitation of business.
  • Evaluate and research sales and operational opportunities.
  • Deliver problem-solving solutions for both current and potential accounts.
  • Manage territory analysis and monitor all relevant developments and trends.
  • Attend sales meetings and participate in training activities.
  • Apply lean thinking and tools to identify and eliminate waste in all areas of the position.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Dot experience
  • Planning, organizational and self-motivating skills
  • Ability to make proactive phone calls to customers and manufacturers

YOU MAY ALSO HAVE

  • Previous experience as a Customer Service Representative
  • A customer-service mindset
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment as well as multitasking

ROLE SPECIFICS

  • Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00am – 4:30pm with occasional overtime
  • Travel: Occasional overnight travel for company meetings or customer visits. Must have ability to travel independently, as needed, by various modes of transportation, including plane, train, or automobile.
