Doubletree by Hilton Airport is seeking an experienced Catering Manager to oversee all aspects of catering services, ensuring exceptional event execution and guest satisfaction. This role requires strong organizational skills and a passion for creating memorable experiences.

The purpose of a Convention Services Manager is to plan, manage and organize the details for group room blocks and convention bookings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage the planning and execution of group events from start to finish. Ensure maximization of room and meeting space, revenues and profits, while delivering a quality guest experience.

  • ยทServe as the main point of contact for planners, conducting site visits, menu tastings and regular meetings to finalize event agendas.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and customize services accordingly.
  • Plan, upsell and detail events with the client including; verification and modification of space requirements, times, equipment and menus.
  • Coordinate with the culinary team and banquet team to manage event logistics.
  • Maintain accurate files, manage room blocks and process contracts/deposits in a timely manner
  • Handle guest concerns or special requests with professionalism.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients to drive repeat business.
  • Evaluate guest needs and industry competitive set to suggest product, service and operational changes necessary to ensure guest satisfaction and market dominance.
  • Create and communicate event resumes. Performs as the sales liaison for all hotel department staff participating in the event delivery process.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of corporate and hotel procedures, products and competition, including their strengths and weaknesses, to continually improve sales strategies and achieve goals.
  • Attends operational and client meetings to communicate event details including: BEOโ€™s, pre-conโ€™s, menu tastings, etc.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate client's needs before, during and after events.
  • Professional and positive communication to both guests and fellow associates.
  • Maintains regular attendance, is consistently on time, and observes prescribed work, break and meal periods in compliance with standards.
  • Maintains high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include compliance with the dress code.

Performs any other duties as requested by supervisor.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
