The position summary states the general nature and purpose of The Contracts Administrator supports Smithfield's Legal and Strategic Sourcing teams by managing the full lifecycle of company contracts with precision, organization, and strategic focus. You will serve as the central coordinator for contract intake, review, routing, execution, and maintenance, ensuring all documents adhere to company policy and remain accurate, compliant, and easily accessible. In this role, you will partner closely with attorneys, sourcing professionals, and internal stakeholders to streamline workflows, maintain contract records, support negotiations, and drive process improvements that enhance efficiency and reduce risk across the enterprise. he job. WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Contract Portfolio Management: Support Strategic Sourcing and Legal in managing a portfolio of contracts with third-party suppliers and service providers, ensuring organized tracking, execution, and lifecycle oversight.
  • Terminations & Renewals: Partner with business stakeholders to proactively manage upcoming contract expirations, terminations, and renewals.
  • Supplier Engagement: Assist the business in onboarding new suppliers and service providers by coordinating required documentation and process steps.
  • Legal Terms & Documentation: Facilitate the distribution of legal terms to suppliers and coordinate negotiation and execution of required agreements.
  • Quote & Statement of Work Review: Review quotes, SOWs, and related documents to ensure alignment with Smithfield requirements and contracting standards.
  • Supplier & Service Provider Coordination: Work directly with suppliers to ensure adherence to Smithfield requirements and resolve contracting-related questions or issues.
  • Insurance Compliance: Manage certificates of insurance for suppliers and service providers within the assigned portfolio, ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Contract Intake & Approvals: Serve as the intake point for new contract requests and facilitate required reviews and approvals for capital project contracts.

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience, required.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex assignments in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent computer and technical skills to include proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

OTHER SKILLS THAT MAKE YOU STAND OUT:
  • Previous Contracts experience strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of contracts preferred.
  • General understanding of basic state and federal laws preferred
  • Experience using Serengeti and other legal software is a plus.
