Job description

JOB SUMMARY:
The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) is a non-profit, bipartisan public policy organization established in 1962 to provide strategic insights and practical policy solutions to decision makers concerned with global security and prosperity. Over the years, it has grown to be one of the largest organizations of its kind, with a staff of some 250 employees, including more than 120 analysts working to address the changing dynamics of international security across the globe.
The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) is looking for a dedicated Program Coordinator to join their Membership Groups (MG) and Special Events department. The position

This entry-level position is a great opportunity to meet and connect with interesting and inspiring individuals who have achieved great success within their area and contribute to the operations of a think tank on the cutting edge of the national security and foreign policy field. We are looking for a candidate who can commit to at least 35 hours of work a week on-site, with the ability to work flexible hours as necessary (including some evening, early morning and weekend events).
The salary range for this position is $57,000 to $65,000 based on experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:
* Providing day-to-day administrative support for the Membership Groups Office
* Preparing for high-level membership meetings and events including programming, material preparation, and day-of staffing assistance
* Provide back-up administrative support to the CEO's office occasionally as needed
* Supporting external and internal CSIS events with both preparation and on-site assistance
* Conducting research and supporting various special projects, including using databases such as Salesforce
* Serving as the main liaison for and staffing rental events for outside groups
* Other administrative duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:
* At least 1 year of professional experience in an office setting
* Pursuing a career in event planning, project management or communications
* Some event planning, public affairs, and office operations experience is strongly preferred
* Experience conducting research, updating databases, working with sensitive information, and interacting in a professional manner with high-level individuals
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
* Excellent time management skills
* Ability to manage competing priorities and operate in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to work independently and in a team environment
* Strong writing, editing, computer, and interpersonal skills
