Job description

Summary of the position: The Operations Manager - Snow is responsible for the overall management of Snow and Ice Control services performed while adhering to the Southview Design sales process and core values.

Duties:

  1. Establish and successfully meet key performance indicators for snow sales, performance, and client retention along with Landscape Care Representatives.
  2. Maintain, cleanup, and assist with work tickets and invoicing in Aspire and sub-contractor portal.
  3. Deliver communications on a consistent basis with Landscape Care Reps and Snow Zone Coordinators via phone, text, email, or other appropriate technology to maintain excellent communications, high standards, and growing relations.
  4. Schedule and oversight of both in house crews and subcontractor crews.
  5. Visit sites during and after active snow events to ensure quality and team cohesion. Monitor and give feedback to ensure clients expectations are being met.
  6. Responsible for maximizing job site efficiencies while maintaining employee morale and safety.
  7. General machine maintenance oversight.
  8. Work hands-on with staff in the field to provide coaching and snow and ice control training.
  9. Appraise crew performance and resolve any conflict.
  10. Maintain professional and courteous communication with clients when responding to customer needs or questions.
  11. Additional duties as assigned. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice.

Job requirements:

Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years of experience in Managerial occupation. Minimum 3 years of experience in Snow and Ice Control industry preferred. Strong effective communication skills. Time management skills as well as flexibility and adaptability were needed. Must have a valid drivers license, and an insurable driving record. Computer skills, creative problem solving, personnel management, organization, and customer service skills/experience preferred. Bilingual -Spanish a plus.

Educational Requirements: Four-year College or University program degree or certificate; or four (or more) years related experience and/or training preferred.

Physical Demands: Must be able to lift/carry materials up to 50lbs on a regular and consistent basis, move about the work site. Requires extended periods of activity including, walking, standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting, up to 100% of a workday.

Work Environment: Exposed to exterior elements (i.e., pollen, chemicals, cold and heat etc.). External environment with all weather and terrain exposure.

Schedule: WINTER - Due to the unpredictability of the winter weather, scheduling is on call. Expectation of availability for the winter weather is 24/7 on-call work. This includes weekends, holidays, overnights, etc. SUMMER The summer schedule (June- August) requires a minimum of 32 hours/week. Summer work will be to provide assistance to other divisions as needed.
