Location: Westbrook, MN
Salary: $100,000 – $150,000 per year

Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Grower / Cultivation Manager to partner closely with the Head Grower in overseeing the daily operations of a licensed cannabis cultivation facility in Westbrook, MN. This is a hands-on leadership position that plays a key role in maintaining plant health, optimizing yields, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving operational excellence throughout the cultivation process.

The ideal candidate is passionate about cannabis cultivation, thrives in a fast-paced production environment, and is eager to collaborate with the Head Grower to continuously improve cultivation practices and product quality. This individual should be comfortable stepping into a leadership role, mentoring team members, and helping manage day-to-day cultivation activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with the Head Grower to oversee all phases of cannabis cultivation, including propagation, vegetative growth, flowering, harvesting, drying, and curing.
  • Assist in developing and implementing cultivation strategies to maximize plant health, yield, consistency, and cannabinoid potency.
  • Monitor and maintain irrigation systems, nutrient programs, lighting schedules, and environmental controls.
  • Scout crops daily for pests, diseases, nutrient deficiencies, and environmental stressors, and assist with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs.
  • Help maintain optimal environmental conditions and identify opportunities to improve cultivation efficiency.
  • Track plant health, production metrics, and cultivation data to support informed decision-making.
  • Ensure cultivation activities comply with state regulations and facility Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Maintain accurate inventory and cultivation records using the state's seed-to-sale tracking system (METRC).
  • Assist with training, mentoring, and supervising cultivation staff while promoting a positive, team-oriented culture.
  • Coordinate with harvesting, processing, and operations teams to ensure efficient production schedules.
  • Maintain facility cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards.
  • Research and evaluate new genetics, cultivation techniques, equipment, and technologies to improve overall production quality and efficiency.
  • Serve as a trusted partner to the Head Grower and provide leadership support during their absence.
Qualifications
  • 3–5+ years of professional cannabis cultivation experience, preferably within a commercial cultivation facility.
  • Experience with indoor and/or greenhouse cultivation environments.
  • Strong understanding of cannabis plant nutrition, irrigation systems, lighting, environmental controls, and cultivation best practices.
  • Experience implementing or supporting Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs.
  • Working knowledge of Minnesota cannabis regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience using seed-to-sale tracking software such as METRC.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by example and work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Horticulture, Plant Science, Agriculture, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting large-scale commercial cannabis cultivation operations.
  • Knowledge of environmental automation systems, fertigation systems, and cultivation software.
  • Experience with process improvement initiatives and production optimization.
