Job description

The Manufacturing Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing daily production and shipping activities at the New Brighton, MN facility. This includes planning, coordination, collaboration and oversight of the manufacturing and shipping processes ensuring all products are produced and shipped efficiently, at the right cost, and upholding the highest quality standards. This role will engage with our planning process to lay out robust production and staffing plans so our manufacturing and shipping teams can operate week-to-week with accurate and consistent direction.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Manage all administrative and operational aspects of the manufacturing and shipping functions for all Tactile product lines
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPI's), reports and dashboards that facilitate team focus and optimize performance. Ensure all KPI's are implemented, reviewed, monitored regularly and achieved
  • Issue weekly, monthly/quarterly and annual reports to senior leadership sharing top KPI's
  • Responsible for following and ensuring the team adheres to all current Good Manufacturing Processes (cGMPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as defined by Tactile Medical's policies, practices, and procedures to ensure ISO regulations are met
  • Manage the utilization of manpower, skills, hours, material, and workflow to assure timely production and quality standards are achieved daily
  • Coordinate the creation and maintenance of appropriate levels of manufacturing capacity while controlling labor and overhead costs
  • Foster a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives
  • Develop a highly effective and productive team through hiring, development, coaching and performance management while increasing engagement
  • Facilitate regular department meetings to actively encourage sharing of ideas, concerns, knowledge and expertise to achieve the best possible results
  • Support P&L by collaborating with other leaders on budget planning, capital expenditures, cost analysis opportunities, and manufacturing/shipping productivity for all product lines
  • Instill and maintain a positive can-do team spirit through effective what and why leadership practices
  • Work closely with the New Product Introduction (NPI) core team to ensure seamless design transfer to production
  • Own the Continuous Improvement process and drive operational excellence throughout the facility
  • Ensure the team is adhering to all regulatory and corporate compliance requirements, including HIPAA
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Operations, Engineering, Business or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 5-7 years of manufacturing experience
  • 3+ years of successful leadership experience

Preferred:

  • Medical device manufacturing experience
  • Thorough understanding of Lean Manufacturing
  • Experience developing business-facing dashboards, and data visualizations on BI platforms such as Power BI
  • NetSuite experience

Knowledge & Skills

  • People leadership including coaching and performance management
  • Proficient in MS Office and ERP software
  • Deep knowledge of production management and prioritization
  • Strong understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations
  • Results oriented approach focused on developing and building high performance teams
  • Ability to facilitate meetings of varying sizes, balancing the needs, voices and concerns of all participants
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with the ability to communicate a clear and compelling message and influence others to support timely achievement of initiatives and goals
