Our client is a packaging manufacturer specializing in paper bags and other packaging products. They are committed to delivering high-quality products, exceptional customer service, and a culture of continuous improvement. They are currently seeking a Production Operations Manager to support and optimize production operations.

$65K - $75K
Position Overview
The Production Operations Manager will support daily production flow, cross-functional communication, and coordination with international production partners. This role requires hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and a strong understanding of production timelines, quality standards, and customer requirements.The ideal Production Operations Manager will serve as a central point of contact across production, quality, account management, shipping, and external manufacturing teams. This highly visible position is responsible for ensuring production processes remain efficient, customer expectations are met, and operational challenges are addressed proactively.
Responsibilities Of The Production Operations Manager
  • Manage day-to-day production coordination for active customer orders, including timelines, priorities, and follow-up items.
  • Serve as a key point of contact between internal teams and external manufacturing or production partners.
  • Track open production issues, delays, quality concerns, and action items to ensure timely resolution.
  • Coordinate with production, quality, account management, and shipping teams to keep orders moving through each stage of the process.
  • Review production details, samples, materials, specifications, and order requirements to help ensure accuracy before larger production runs.
  • Partner with quality teams to address nonconforming work, production discrepancies, or customer requirement gaps.
  • Communicate regularly with internal stakeholders regarding order status, production risks, and timeline updates.
  • Support production planning, scheduling, capacity coordination, and prioritization of urgent or time-sensitive orders.
  • Help identify recurring production challenges and recommend process improvements.
  • Maintain clear documentation related to order status, production updates, corrective actions, and key follow-ups.
  • Support the standardization of production workflows, communication processes, and operating procedures.
Required Experience/Skills For The Production Operations Manager
  • 3+ years of experience in production coordination, production management, manufacturing operations, project management, or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of production timelines, order flow, quality expectations, and customer-driven manufacturing requirements.
  • Experience coordinating with external vendors, manufacturing partners, suppliers, or off-site production teams strongly preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple open orders, priorities, and production issues simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to follow up, escalate issues, and keep stakeholders aligned.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with production, quality, customer service, account management, shipping, and leadership teams.
  • Experience with ERP systems, production planning tools, project management software, or similar platforms preferred.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience/Skills For The Production Operations Manager
  • Experience in printing, packaging, paper manufacturing, labels, flexible packaging, corrugated products, folding cartons, or related manufacturing environments.
  • Experience working with international production partners and external manufacturing facilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and operational efficiencies.
Education Requirements
  • Associate's degree or higher required.
  • An equivalent combination of education and industry experience will be considered.
