MRI Assistant - Per Diem

The MRI Assistant will be responsible for a optimizing the patient flow of MRI examinations. These responsibilities include clarification and documentation of patient screening and safety procedures. Employee will provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors and staff with an emphasis on quality service and excellent patient care. Employee must be self-motivated and demonstrate ability to work as a team. On a need to basis, performs other duties as trained and assigned.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Observe all safety and warning signs while demonstrating understanding in all emergency stops and patient extractions from the bore and magnet room
  • Demonstrate proper phone etiquette and follow patient identification policy.
  • Participates in all staff meetings and reads emails for updates.
  • Completes documentation of patient history, tech info, "Universal Time Out", exams, and scanned paperwork PACS.
  • Assesses stock levels and enters stock/pantry orders in computer system.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience: Preference of two years' experience in a healthcare environment.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Problem solving ability and attention to detail is preferred
  • Good written and oral communication skills preferred.
  • Requires ability to prioritize work, manage time wisely and adjust to changes in work volumes.


Physical Requirements:

Must be able to push, pull, bend, safely transfer patients and ambulate without assistance.


Location and Travel Requirements:

  • Location: May be supporting Cayuga Medical Center Main Campus, East Campus and/or Cortland Campus.
  • Shift: Per Diem - Coverage shifts vary. Anticipated scheduling needs weekends: Saturday and Sunday's
  • 0% - 5% Local Travel can be expected in this role

Pay Range Disclosure:

  • Standard Rate of $18.50 to $24.00 per hour
