Remittance Analyst

Position Summary:The Remittance Analyst plays a key role within the cross-functional execution of Claim Submission & Remittance Deposit Processing work-flowexecution. Although work area assignments vary within the department,the Remittance Analyst serves asa core contributor to the daily coordination and executionof tasksrequiredto achieve processing goals.Their contributions help toensure daily operations are in-order, equipment/processes are functioning properly, and exceptions/escalations are accounted for,communicated/distributed & resolvedin a timely manner,accordingto department policies,proceduresand work requirements.

TheAnalyst willcommunicatewithpeers and their direct manager to keep others informed of progress and delays that may affect production.They work as support resources for their operational area;which may include acting in a lead coverage capacity (weekends, evenings as needed) and serving as mentors and trainers; educating team members for workflow execution and responding to daily questions/escalations.

Essential JobResponsibilities:

  • Engage withindesignated workflow areas to ensure work is organized for processing, people & equipment resources are positioned/functioningappropriatelyand exceptions/escalations are accounted for, distributed & resolvedin a timely manner.

  • Monitor designated workflow area interacting with or being available for team members as needed for general guidance & support (answer questions/support escalations/address obstacles).

  • Timely completion ofassignedproduction queue work.

  • Coordinate with other department workflow areas to support orderly daily work production and processing goals while avoiding duplication of efforts.

  • Monitor and report work area trends;identifyandquantifyissues tosupportpositive performance results and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Activelyparticipateand communicate the status and completion of assignments within designated projects.

Additional JobResponsibilities:

  • Strong written & verbal communication skills; particularly listening, interpersonal communication and information distribution (communicating delays, recognizing escalation opportunities, expressing accountabilities, etc.)

  • Mechanical and/or Systems aptitude desired but notrequired.

  • Problem solving/analytical mindset, computer literacy (e.g.Microsoft Office suite) & mathematical aptitude.

  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time if necessary; able to lift to 30 lbs.

ExpectedEducation & Experience:

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.

General understanding of Revenue Cycle; detailed process knowledge of Claim Submission & Remittance Deposit Processing preferred.

Experience working within a professional, diverse corporate setting; medical billing experience preferred.

Expected Compensation

$28,000 - $48,000

The base salary range shown reflects the full range for this role from minimum to maximum. At athenahealth, base pay depends on multiple factors, including job-related experience, relevantknowledge and skills, how your qualifications compare to others in similar roles,and geographical market rates. Base pay is only one part of our competitive Total Rewards package - depending on role eligibility, we offer both short and long-term incentives by way of an annual discretionary bonus plan, variable compensation plan, and equity plans.
